If your abstract has been accepted to the ARMA 44th U.S. Rock Mechanics Symposium, we look forward to receiving your final paper for the paper review stage. Here are the important points:
Submission deadline is March 1, 2010.
We will review all papers by April 1, 2010. Unfortunately, papers may not be accepted if they do not meet our standards of technical and writing quality. Technical quality should be equivalent to past symposia or to a professional or academic journal. Be sure your paper has substantive content with clearly presented data, analyses, and discussions.
We recognize the challenge of preparing English-language papers for non-native speakers (and even many native ones). We will not reject papers for minor editing flaws; however, a paper in which poor grammar and language quality impair one’s ability to understand the contents will not be accepted. Please consult an editor proficient in technical English terminologies. The technical reviewers will not have time to edit these for you. Always re-check your paper for proper grammar before submission.
Manuscripts must be prepared using symposium templates and symposium formats (see below). The program committee will not be able to reformat papers.
Your manuscript must be accompanied by your paid symposium registration in order to guarantee a spot in the program and to be included in the proceedings.
Please comply with the March 1, 2010 submission deadline. We will accommodate your busy schedules as best we can, but we make no guarantees that late submissions will be accepted.
Poster vs. Oral
As the technical program is finalized, papers will be assigned to sessions and to poster or oral time slots. Oral time slots will be 15 minutes, including questions. If you would prefer a poster presentation, please be sure this is indicated in your abstract/paper profile at https://security.gibsongroup.ca/arma/abstract-submission.php (Login, click on View Abstract/Paper Status, then 'click here to update abstract' to access the profile). A list of accepted abstracts will be posted in early 2010 on the conference website at: http://www.armasymposium.org/index.html.
Formatting and Submission
Your paper must be submitted electronically through the Symposium paper review web site - https://security.gibsongroup.ca/arma/abstract-submission.php - by March 1, 2010. Use the same login ID and password that you set up for yourself when submitting the abstract. Papers must be submitted in MS Word.doc format. All authors must use the MS Word template provided on the conference website at http://www.armasymposium.org/index.html when preparing their papers. Please ensure that the file-type extension (".doc") is included in your paper's file name.
Paper Submission and Registration Deadline
The submission deadline is March 1, 2010. You may register for the conference through the conference website http://www.armasymposium.org/index.html. Authors are expected to pay full conference registration by the March 1, 2010 paper submission deadline, with an absolute final registration deadline of April 7, 2010. Papers received without accompanying registration will not be considered for the conference technical program.
Review Schedule
Paper reviews will be completed by April 1, 2010. You will be informed by e-mail of the review results at that time. If revisions to your paper are required, they must be made and submitted by May 1, 2010, without exception. All accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings, provided that full conference registration has been paid.
